Tokio Hotel.

Among the international bands that I like to listen to, this is one of those that caught my attention instantly (not to mention 30 seconds to Mars, too). But this band was entirely different with the music of 30 seconds to Mars.

I just recently discovered this band when it was introduced to me by my girlfiend weeks ago. I was surprised that they were German band and I don't understand any single lyric on their songs. Fortunately, after the big success of their first album "Schrei," they released an english version of thier first album and later created english versions of their succeeding albums and singles.  Their hit song "Burch Den Monsun" was later translated to english with title "Monsoon." And so their other songs like 1000 Oceans, Scream, Ready, Set, Go!, etc.

Their song "Automatic" first reigned the top 1 on Myx. Yes, our local music channel. After several awards from MTV and the first ever German Band that sold million of copies in Europe, they were finally invading Asia.

The band is composed of Twin Brothers Bill & Tom Kaulitz, Vocalis and guitars, respectively. Georg Listing (Bass Guitar) and Gustav Schafer (Drums)

The name "Tokio Hotel" was excerpt from "Tokyo" their love of the city and "Hotel" for non-permanency and always moving from one place to another.

NU 107 (a wave to the airwaves)

Last night aired the last songs coming from one of my favorite radio station NU 107. 

Yes, you heard it right. The station is already in sunset. Before we finally bid farewell to this rockin' station, let's relive some of the highlights of their 23 years of existence.

As the name suggest, this station was purely focused on marketing Philippine rock music. Most of the time, the new breeds of rock icons starts in this station. They started the segment "In the Raw" where they featured new breeds of rock bands and give them opportunities to showcase their talents. Hopefully with the airing off of the station, bands will not take this as a hindrance in performing and continuing their music.

One of the milestone of NU Rock was introducing the NU Rock Awards which happens every year. This event features Rock bands contributions to music industry and awarding those who had really influenced Filipino music. Some of the bands featured are The Dawn, After Image (during the 90's) and then followed by Eraserheads, Parokya ni Edgar and the likes. Then music evolved to sounds of Wolfgang, Razorback,and Slapshock, a more whitish rock type. Then also came in the mellow rock like those of Rivermaya, Bamboo and Sandwich. The last NU Rock Awards was aired October 29 of this year.

Rock music has been evolving throughout time. And with the closure of one of the legendary Rock Music starters, I hope, as a rock music fan, this will not stop music industry from playing rock music in the airwaves!

Halloween Break!

We had an event last October 29 to celebrate the Halloween at the office. To make this even more fun and everyone engaged, GPW (Great Place to Work) organized a competition between each team. The competition is for the following:

• Best in Horror costume
• Best Team in halloween theme
• Best Loot Bag

I was on training attending presentation dynamics for two days including Oct 29 so I had my team prepare something for the event. We didn't really prepared that much and worry not about the competition. We just wanted to participate and not left out from the event. The girls from my team wear witch hats while the boys are either on scary clown make-up or wearing horror masks. This is my team: 

30 Seconds to Mars

I just recently discovered this band "30 seconds to Mars." I was actually on the mall looking for a new headset/earphone to replace my IPod earphone since the right piece is no longer working. While strolling and looking for a store that sells good quality earphones, I passed by MAC store that sells, of course, IPod series. I tested and listened to one vacant free-to-listen ipod (but i listened not because I am interested with the Ipod since I already have my own IPod touch but to test the quality of headset they are using, which on that time is a Bose headset). But oooppss, that god damn headset cost P8000!! What the.. Before that, the song playing on the Ipod was a song from the band 30 seconds to Mars, "The Kill." I enjoyed the song and memorized the name of the band. The song was catchy and easily get my taste of music since I am into rock genre. When I got home, I hurriedly search the internet and downloaded that song. After sometime, I have discovered some of their popular singles and after a week, downloaded their 2 albums!

Experience: Parasailing

Parasailing is one of the attracting "To Do's" in Boracay. And for me, this would be the best activity so far. You will definitely enjoy your 15-minute ride with this big balloon, just like the feeling on a parachute! You will see how vast the sea once you saw this 100 feet above sea level. Not only that, you will definitely enjoy the cool breeze too. Me and my friend had the chance to experience this when we were in Boracay. We have it setup so when we rent for a ride, its around sunset time. And damn, everything was so perfect when you are up above! Not to mention a perfect background too! I hope I can share more pictures but unfortunately, we still unable to upload everything. Although the activity was too costly, we got it for P1,100/head, I can say that its really worth the price! Bitter si kuya

Alam kong move on ka na sa dati mong karelasyon, boypren man ito o girlpren. Ngunit aminin mo na minsan ay napapasilip ka pa rin sa fesbuk wall ng ex mo (aminin mo na, mamatay na nagsisinungaling!) sa kadahilanang curious ka sa anong klaseng buhay na ba meron siya after ng break-up niyo. Ninanais mo pa na makipagunahan sa kanya na makahanap kagad ng iba para lang maipakita na naka-move-on ka na (as if s/he cares?!). Magugulat ka na lang isang araw na punong puno ng puso ang paligid ng FB wall niya.. Love is in the air ika nga nila. Ouch! nasaktan ka dahil alam mo sa sarli mo na meron ka pa ding nararamdaman kahit konti... Pero mas naging usisero ka sa kung sino na ba ang karelasyon ng dati mong kasintahan!

Hala at ako'y umuwi na namang tipsy. Pero wag ka mag-alala ang post na ito ay hindi tungkol sa paglalasing ko. :))

Nasa opis pa ko ng may magtext sakin at nagyayaya na uminom.. Syempre friday mode na naman at weekend na, sabi ko "ok, sunod na lang ako kasi shift ko pa.." Fast forward ng konti...3am after shift, derecho ako dun sa paborito naming tambayan... mga 5-minute walk lang naman kaya hindi hassle. Inabutan ko dun ang sandamakmak na opismates ko.. Hi jan, Hello dun.. papatagayin ka pa.. "sabi ko teka lang, chill lang tayo" Hinahanap ko ung table ng frend kong nagyaya sakin.. ayun at anjan lang pala sila.

Pamilyar ba ang title sayo? :)

Yes! tama ka. Yan nga ang mga buttons na pinipindot para makakuha ka ng extra 27 lives sa larong "Contra" kumpara sa pagsisimula ng game na may 3 lives lang. Kung batang late 80's or 90's ka, malamang nakapaglaro ka na ng "Family Computer." Sikat na sikat to dati nung hindi pa lumalabas ang gameboy (black & white pa dat time). Eto ung gadget na gumagamit pa ng tapes na games. "Bala" ang tawag namin dito. Nilalagay ang Bala sa isang slot ng game machine. Parang bread toaster lang pag nag "eject" ka ng game tape.. tumatalsik! haha! kaya ang hirap maglaro nito ng patago sa parents, maingay kasi. Ang pinaka-nakakamiss jan eh ung paghipan mo sa bala kasi minsan pag sinalang mo, blurry ung game (parang garbage). Haha!

Kung nasan ka man sana masaya ka na sa bago mong kasama.

Matagal din ang pinagsamahan natin. Lagi kitang kasama sa lahat ng oras. Bawat minuto, bawat oras. Madalas pa nga tayong mapuyat ngunit ako'y masaya. Siguro nasayo na ang lahat.. saya, lungkot, takot, kalokohan. Kung ano-anong feelings na ang naibahagi mo sa akin.

Music has been part of my life and I think everyone's life too. Yes. I am a certified addict when it comes to music. I dunno... I think same with how other people connect with this language, I feel a part of me was complete once I started listening to songs. You are full of emotions and people of different nations and race connect to a universal language called music. 

Love songs, R&B, Jazz, Rock, Pop, Alternative... name it. Music of different genre but with the same purpose... to express oneself.

Coincidence

 These are the last words spoken by the narrator under the very inspiring and very "true" movie 500 Days of Summer. This is one of the best movie I have ever watched in my entire life. Next to "My Sassy Girl."Contrary to what other people think, the story is NOT a love story.

Life. That is where the plot of story revolves. Summer reflects that life is life. While Tom's character describes a person that believes in destiny.

Whatever we do, decisions that we made, were part of the coincidence... These coincidences could be a significant factor in your future. Instances that are currently happening in one's life were not meant to happen. They were just "instances." And it's our job to interpret things and use that to improve your own life... or mess your own life... whatever you like. 

Top 3 Movies I missed to watch at the big screen

I am so busy. Life has been so unfair for me lately. Where's my work-life balance? I haven't felt you for months. Now here I am posting on my site... blaming my "busy as hell" job. I seriously got busy and didn't even have a spare time to watch some movies which I normally do... Avatar, Shrek, Pirates of the Carribean, Calsh of the Titans, Valentines day...

So far, these are the three movies I SHOULD have watch but....

Top 3 Percy Jackson and the Olympians Lightning Thief - I am not sure if this is a cool and thrilling movie. But based on the feedback that I get from my friends and office mates, this is one hell of an entertainment. But they told me that there is nothing special about this movie. And a good sample for kids viewing. =)) haha! But still, I want to watch this movie.

Top2 Iron Man 2 - Iron Man 1 was a big success ( I assume). Haven't heard any good or bad feedbacks from this movie. The movie was more of a silent movie i guess... hmmm. But knowing how satisfying the prequel, sequel would surely be another hit for me.

Top1 Prince of Persia Sands of Time - This might be the biggest movie I ever missed in my entire life. I really waited for this movie ever since I watched the trailer. I have been a big fan of the game Prince of Persia. I was able to finish this game. That is maybe one of the reason why I really love to see the movie. I am really curious of how the creators make this as seamless as the game.

That's it. Now I swear to watch these movies and never miss.

Aliens or time travelers?

Do you believe in aliens? These were creatures (sorry for the word, can't find anything that fits more) whom we know to have super powers and observe us from above with their Unidentified flying objects (UFO - disc shaped planes). They were usually described as more advanced creatures than human, who has the most advanced technology far from the technology we have right now.

Many reports claim a UFO sightings here in our planet and some really believed that humans were not the only creatures living in the galaxy. But is there really an alien and will the time come that the fictional  movie Alien Invation will really happen to the planet Earth?

I believe and at the same time do not believe that there are aliens. I believe that this creatures exist. But i think that those creatures riding with the UFOs were also human.. like us.

Yes. I believe that they are time travelers. You may think that I am crazy but think about it, they have the most advance technology and making a time machine would not be impossible. They are people who wanted to change something, some events in the past (which is our present) to correct the future. I do not believe on how movies physically describe them. They are also people.

I may be wrong. But this is just my opinion, belief and perspective. 

Aliens = Time travelers. Possible.

tanya markova

Ilang araw na din akong na LSS sa kantang PICTURE PICTURE. 

Isang araw ay nagbablog ako ng mag guest ang bandang tanya markova sa show na wowowee.. Nung una ay hindi ko pinansin. Muka kasi silang papansin sa itsura nila. Maputing muka na parang gawgaw na ewan. Sabi ko, another trying hard na band na naman 'to. 

Wala kong intensyon na makinig sa music nila. Nagkataon lang na hindi ako nakaheadset that time while browsing my facebook. And to my surprise, parang may dating ung kanta nila.. catchy ung song. And then i stopped browsing for awhile and turned my ears to their song.

Mukang nabitin ako kaya i went back to browsing.. but this time sa youtube na. Di ko pa alam pangalan ng band nila kaya nagtanong pa ako sa kapatid ko.. "sino yang band na yan?" "tanya markova kuya.". So type ako sa youtube. "TANYA MARKOVA". Aba may lumabas, at un nga ung single nila na picture picture. May music video na din pla sila.. So i've checked.. hmmm.. ayus ah. malinis pla sila tumugtog.. kasi halos parehas ung dating sa live at sa recorded.

I've also checked some of their songs at okay naman. iba ung genre nila at catchy mga songs. simple pero may dating. Nacurious din ako why tanya markova name na band nila. Ung tanya pertains to Tanya Garcia.. crusj daw nila lahat. Ung Markova, ewan ko.. hahaha! baka trip trip lang. o baka naman si Tanya Garcia ay mukang bakla??? hahaha! di naman cguro...

Kaya ayan, change music muna ko sa blog ko. Set aside muna emoness... :) Ung tumutugtog po ay ung Picture Picture.. obvious naman ata.. first few words ng lyrics panay Picture(2x).. haha! 

Looking forward on buying their album.. Pero Silent Santuary muna bilin ko. haha! :)

Julia Sheer

I was browsing and looking for talented people on the popular site Youtube when I came across a video by Taylor Swift. I am not a fan of Taylor Swift (haha!). But when I started to listen to Julia's cover, I begin to appreciate Taylor Swift's song. Now, I am getting a daily dose of Julia Sheer every time I logged to youtube. I even downloaded some of her cover and original songs. She is not popular like Miley Cyrus or Taylor Swift. But I know she will be someday. Here's one of her cover videos.

Back to the 90's Ranger shows

AURA POWER!!!

It is very fortunate that during my childhood days, I was able to experience quality shows... particularly the kids shows. Wala na atang makakapantay sa mga kiddie shows dati tulad ng Mask Rider Black, Maskman, Jetman, Turbo Ranger, Machine Man, Ultraman, Fiveman at kung anu-ano pa. Sorry to compare this with todays show but i found kids today so unlucky not be given a chance to watch shows like these. Ang corny na kasi ng mga ranger shows ngaun... Wala ng kastorya-storya... Just to create a show and that's it! haayyyzz..

Sino ba namang hindi makakaalam ng pambansang kanta ng Maskman? hahaha! I'm 25 now but it is still fresh on my mind! Let me try this...
