Review: A Moment to Remember

"I have an eraser in my head"
-Su Jin

This  might be one of the best Asian movies I have watched in romatic drama genre.
Imagine yourself falling inlove to a perfect girl. Everything seems to go as planned and just like a fairy tale that always says "And they lived happily ever after," they thought that nothing else can separate them from each others arms. Until...

How far can love take you when the person you love will start to forget all her memories, all her past, including you? You'll wake up, hug her tight, kiss her and ask you "Who are you?"

If you are a big fan of love stories with a twist in the plot and loves Korean films, I highly recommended this movie. The movie was released in year 2004. I really don't want to talk much of the plot of the story. Just find out yourself [Don't want to be a great spoiler! :)]

Trivia: The girl in the movie was actually the girl who played the role in Endless Love Summer Scent.

30 Seconds to Mars

I just recently discovered this band "30 seconds to Mars." I was actually on the mall looking for a new headset/earphone to replace my IPod earphone since the right piece is no longer working. While strolling and looking for a store that sells good quality earphones, I passed by MAC store that sells, of course, IPod series. I tested and listened to one vacant free-to-listen ipod (but i listened not because I am interested with the Ipod since I already have my own IPod touch but to test the quality of headset they are using, which on that time is a Bose headset). But oooppss, that god damn headset cost P8000!! What the.. Before that, the song playing on the Ipod was a song from the band 30 seconds to Mars, "The Kill." I enjoyed the song and memorized the name of the band. The song was catchy and easily get my taste of music since I am into rock genre. When I got home, I hurriedly search the internet and downloaded that song. After sometime, I have discovered some of their popular singles and after a week, downloaded their 2 albums!

7 Habits of Highly Effective People

This was one of the training I have attended past months ago and wanted this to share through my blog. I find this very interesting and at the same time inspiring. The very first time I knew about this, I started thinking "Am I like this?" This is the 7 Habits by Stephen Covey. Here are the 7 things we need to know to become a better person, should I say.

  • Habit 1 Be Proactive - this tackles how we react to certain things happening in our lives. Its better to be proactive rather than being reactive. In being proactive, you strike a balance between your influence and your norms and made decisions out of it. I would say that people that are proactive tends to lean more on critical thinking and analyzing his/her surroundings. This is the start and your foundation as a good person.

Music. Journey. Paramore. to misery business.

Music has been part of my life and I think everyone's life too. Yes. I am a certified addict when it comes to music. I dunno... I think same with how other people connect with this language, I feel a part of me was complete once I started listening to songs. You are full of emotions and people of different nations and race connect to a universal language called music.

Love songs, R&B, Jazz, Rock, Pop, Alternative... name it. Music of different genre but with the same purpose... to express oneself.

LSS - Terminal -

I just came across the song Terminal sung by Rupert Holmes on my Ipod. I can't even remember when did I put that song on my playlist... hmmm.. going back... it's also a very good timing that I was riding the bus when this song starts playing on my earphones.. and the song goes like this.. (see also my interpretation below)

I've come back this mornin' to where I first came alive
Here within this terminal where the buses arrive
I was a commuter on the 804
Work for a computer on the 19th floor and...

You came down the aisle of the bus and you sat by my side
Shoulder up to shoulder we shared that 9 o'clock ride
Oh, my heart was screamin' as you left your seat
Followin' your movements I was at your feet and...

Oh, down into the terminal both of us smiled
So we entered the terminal just as you smiled
"Won't you leave out work for today?" you ask of me then
So I phoned-in-sick on the way to the home of a friend
We were all alone from 10 A.M. till 3
Really thought the fire had gone out of me but...

You awoke the sleep of my life from gray into red
Made the weary wonder of Wall Street rise from the dead
Could have held up budding my entire life
But I had to get home to the kids and the wife and...
So I left for the terminal where I began
Baby, no, I wouldn't have left if I'd been half a man

So here I am this morning where love had asked for the dance
Here within this terminal where I passed on a chance
Lord, I'll never find her though I've truly tried
Probably she's found another bus to ride and...

I am now about to begin the last of my days
I'm within what others would call a terminal phase
I myself can only say it's livin' dead
Ridin' to the office with a song in my head that goes...

La da da...
And you know it grows
La da da...
Oh, la da da...
Oh, la da da...

My Interpretation
This is a very sad story of a man finding his true love in a wrong time and wrong situation. You can feel in the lyrics that the man really fell in love... and as if the woman was really her soulmate... Some part of the lyrics says "You awoke the sleep of my life from gray into red. Made the weary wonder of Wall Street rise from the dead." This only shows that the man felt life again after meeting the girl. And he wanted the woman to be with him forever but unfortunately he is already a father to his kids and a husband to his wife. A less than half a man he was. He would have choose to be with the girl if he was not committed.  He gave up his personal happiness for what is currently important also for him... A given up true love for what he thinks must matter on his present life. And he was left going crazy over love.

Love really makes people crazy. That's true.
